Downloads Update

Prepare for a shock.. I'm caught up with the Downloads! (and it only took 15 hours ;)

If I can stay caught up, I'll get rid of the Unrated Levels section. I'm sure I'll at least be able to keep things updated for the rest of the winter break, so this would be a good time to submit stuff.. although it would be nice if you listened to what my cousin is saying below. ;-)

Jazz2Spy

Yet another multiplayer launcher has emerged, and this could very well be the best one yet. Jazz2Spy, created by Everlasting UOI, is the first MP launcher that includes a server list. It has a good layout and lots of features. You can download the awesome program at The Jazz2Spy Website.

Jazz World is Back

After months of being down, Ripsaw has brought back Jazz World. There are many new sections, including Links, Stories, Pictures, and a weekly poll, although there isn't too much to see yet. The site may eventually move to www.JazzWorld.com, but for the time being you can view it at www.angelfire.com/mn2/jazz.

Weird Stuff

We've already posted about this before, but Atmcdragon sent in a couple interesting screen shots. Both are from an Internet game. This one shows a player who turned into a huge Jazz, and this one has someone who turned into a shield box. :) I believe you can do this kind of stuff by shooting bird-morph boxes in Party Mode and in some circumstances you'll see weird things...

Also, Y2K Taco discovered that there are many items in the upper-right corner of official Battle 1 that can only be reached using cheat codes. This screenshot shows them all.

Merry Christmas! =)

Jazz 2 City would like to wish all of you a very Merry, Christ-filled Christmas. I encourage you to take time today to thank God for bringing his Son into the world to die for our sins. Afterall, that is the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Read Luke 2:1-20 to learn more about Jesus' birth. It could change your life.

Hydro Corps

Ripsauce (I hope that's his real JJ2 name ;) is starting a new JJ2 clan. Normally I wouldn't post about something like this (as the sheer number of clans being created/changed all the time would clog up the news), but this clan looks different. You know how we like originality here at J2C. :) One of the most interesting things about it is its use of a Point System. In this clan, you can move up in rank by doing different things for the clan. They also have a members only area on their web site, another interesting thing. Personally, I'd say this clan looks promising. Check out their web site, and see if you agree. :)

Source: Project 2

The Main part of this is, is already posted before by wakedude but anyways here we go.. :)

Every one that orderd the JJ2CC from Project 2 had a letter with some bad news

Because of problems Project 2 Interactive can`t get the release before x-mass (Gah!) but it will be released by a new name Jazz 2000 or Jazz Jackrabbit: The Winter Edition.

but the good news is that it gets a few extra stuff now! (Yeah!)

So we can expect Jazz 2000 (The Winter Edition) begin Januari

J2: CC Goes Down the Drain

Erik Schreuder, the Marketing Manager at Project 2, says that they are having problems with the production of Jazz 2: Christmas Chronicles. It's currently unknown if it will even be released at all. If it is, the name will probably be changed because it won't be released this holiday season.

On a brighter note, I read at PlanetJeh that Holiday Hare 1998 is available at Staples in their Budget PC title section. So, check both Staples and CompUSA for the game.

Jeh also added that HH98 came with a free trial of AOL. Of course, we all know what the best use for an AOL CD is... :-)

Misc. News

Because the server of my webpage had died due to Y2K (rats, huh?), I have had to switch my page to here. I've got all the results of my contest right, and I can add more. Please continue to search for the Power UOI Icons.

Thought I'd do a lttle advertising here. I know we don't usually do this, that's why I put this with the other news, so it wasn't by itself. Anyway, I received this from Speedy (the real one):
Speedy has started a new clan, the Jaguars and is now accepting members. You cannot already be in a clan, you gave to put JAG either before or after your name, and have to face Speedy in the tryouts. If you would like to join the clan, please e-mail him at ROSSBYRD@aol.com and he'll schedule a duel.

Ok, last news for today: Keep sending me those levels for my pack!

New JCMB Layout

Source: Jazzcentral

Got this from Jazzcentral..New JCMB Layout

Ok, I've been told by a number of people that the JCMB was getting old and boring. So I decided to redo the layout, graphics...

It still has the blue color scheme to it, but what else did you want? Red? Yellow? Green? Orange? Purple? (That be interesting) Neon? (Can that be done on computers?)

Also, there is a new title image done by Inglis Designs (AKA. UnKnOwN), that I think you will all like.

I removed 2 of the least popular JCMB fourms, the Jazz Jackrabbit Editing (Editing your Jazz/Spaz/Lori character names, colors...), and the JCMB Files (Where you upload a signature image file, and you tell people about it. You can still upload, but the forum is gone.)

Also, a few minor JCMB hacks were installed, but they are so minor, I won't bother describing them. :-)

Well, you gonna sit here reading this, or are you gonna go and visit the JCMB? Remember, registration is 100% free! :)

Christmas is coming...

For those of you who are not Dutch (hi shadow!), Christmas is coming up in about 5 days. I hope you will all remember the true meaning of Christmas, even if you aren't Christian.

Eh.. second reason for this post. Don't send too much work to Wakeman (Steven). We'd like him to have a nice, restful Holiday break. :)

Happy Christmas!

News for the sake of it.

Well.. this isn't really news, but I'm creating a level pack, and I MIGHT use some other people's level, besides my own, in it. The requirements are as follows:

1. All levels must be created after December 18, 1999. I won't accept any older levels, I want new ones.
2. All levels must not have broken warps, or anything missing. Have them tested first, then send them to me and I'll think about putting them in my level pack. If you are picked, feel happy. :)
3. All text in levels must not have swearing, or references to.. yeah, bad things... in them.
4. Send away!
5. All levels must have music.

Secret Bullets

GreenKiller has discovered a "secret bullet" which may stem from the special Pepper Spray in the OEM version of Jazz 2, shown in this screenshot. You cannot fire these bullets, but you can put them in your levels in TSF. GreenKiller included a screenshot of what the normal and powered-up bullets look like. Here's how to do it:

In the Events selection window, select No Event and check the Generator box. For normal bullets: DELAY: 1, EVENT: 7. For powered-up bullets: DELAY: 1, EVENT: 15. This only works in TSF.

I dunno why Dethman did not post this on Jazz2city.. anyways I take it then. (hehehe..)
After the release of Cyberspaz he is going to put some Information on this URL. I think Dethman will post soon more detials about it. I may like be him a ML but I don`t have any clue how this is going to be! but if it`s like QoB then you can expect some really good stuff! Jazz Duelist's Challenge

The bad news: CoC 3 has been terminated.
The good news: It has been replaced with something better: The Jazz Duelist's Challenge! The difference in JDC is that you get to challenge anybody you want and duel them anytime you choose, unlike CoC 3 where everything was predetermined. I think it's a better system and there's a good possibility it will work out if people participate. So, head over to the JDC site, join the competition, and start dueling!

HH98 for $1

I have been informed by somebody living in the Los Angeles, CA area that Holiday Hare 1998 was on sale at CompUSA for $10 with a $9 rebate. You might as well check to see if your local CompUSA sells the game. If they don't have it, the Gathering of Developers still has the game on sale for the same price at their online store. Or, you can order over the phone by calling [Toll Free] 1 877-GODGAMES.

If you live in the US, I really don't think there's any reason to buy Jazz 2: CC from Europe. The only other things it comes with are 10 levels from Project 2's TSF level-designing contest and JCS. Only European residents can participate in the new level-designing contest, and I believe the JCS is the same one TSF comes with. So, you'd be much better off just ordering HH98 from G.O.D.

Jazz 2: CC Available Online!

Cottontail has returned to the community with some good news: Jazz 2 Christmas Chronicles is now avaible for pre-order at Games Terminal. They are the same people who sold TSF online for us. Unfortunately, the game costs £23, (counting shipping) which is around $37 in US dollars. I think that's a pretty hefty price for a game like that, but if you live in the US or Canada and want it, this could be your only chance. Games Terminal will start shipping on December 3.

If you live in Europe, continue to look for the game in local stores.

Noogy is now taking a poll at NoogyLand to see if there is interest in his plan for an Animation Instructional Video.
