Cheq 3
README

A brief history of the Cheq tileset is probably in order. It all started as a dream before Jazz2 was even released. I wanted to create a tileset entirely out of black and white checks. When the game finally came out, the reality of my artistic talent shattered the idea that I might make such a tileset look good. Cheq was released, and was it ever ugly.

Much later, I decided to remake the tileset with a wider variety of colors and a few extra things (like ropes and sucker tubes). Unfortunately, the tileset was very unorganized and didn't turn out very well. In fact, it was so bad that I never even released it. I decided to start a new version with fewer colors and more usability. Thus, Cheq 3 was born.

Usage of this tileset is not limited at all. In fact, I inspire you to use the graphics in this tileset to create your own additions or simply to add to your own tilesets. However, if you do change the tileset in any way, I require that you use a different name. I'd like to leave the 'Cheq' name reserved for any future versions I might create. Other than that, do what you wish and have fun.

Before you begin using the tileset, there is one thing I'd like to point out. The ropes might seem kind of a mess when you look at them, but they're actually organized into two main groups. The group on the left has masked knots (can be used for hooks) and the group on the right has unmasked knots. Additionally, you'll notice two of each color of horizontal rope. The lower of the two (for each color) is masked in case you need a "vine" in your level. Other than that, the tileset is pretty much self-explainitory.

Your feedback is welcome. I'd love to hear what you think of my tilesets, levels, or anything else you feel you need to tell me. Send email to onag@w-link.net or contact me via ICQ at the UIN #6503092.
